Meet Omar González Yanes, MD, FACS
Dr. Omar González Yanes is a distinguished Otorhinolaryngologist and Head & Neck Surgeon, known for his skills in diagnosing and treating laryngological disorders of the head and neck and related areas.
Dr González Yanes began his academic journey at the University of Puerto Rico, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sciences with Magna Cum Laude honors in 1990. He then pursued his Medical Doctor degree at the Universidad Central del Caribe, completing his studies in 1994. He underwent specialized training in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine from 1997 to 2001. Dr González Yanes completed his postgraduate training with a fellowship in Laryngology and Neurolaryngology at the New York Center for Voice & Swallowing Disorders from 2001 to 2002.
As a respected educator, Dr. González Yanes served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine from 2004 to 2008. At the present time he is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Universidad Central del Caribe.
Currently Dr. González Yanes serves as the Chief of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Hospital Auxilio. In addition to his clinical work, he maintains a private practice specializing in Laryngology and Neurolaryngology, Voice & Swallowing Disorders, and Professional Voice Care at the Voice & Sinus Institute.
Outside of his medical career, Dr. González Yanes is an active individual with a wide range of interests, including scuba diving, boating, pickleball, golf, and a love for the outdoors. His passion for sports and hiking serves as a testament to his commitment to a healthy and active lifestyle.
